Training
In-house training is on going at SSGPO with topics such as: new software uses, Technical lectures, Strength of Materials demonstrations, new material uses, and Geometric Tolerance and Dimensioning classes.
Other types of training that are routinely offered range from HazCom, Safety, Security, ISO Audit training, as well as specific workplace safety training. Customer-furnished training is also conducted so that interface between the companies will be precise.
SSGPO has a Tuition Assistance Program to encourage employees to expand their professional education. The best educational institutions are within the vicinity.
Communications
Within the organization, there are a lot of “volunteer” committees that promote the communication between SSGPO management, its employees, and customer base. A committee quarterly publishes the SSGPO newsletter, “In Focus”, which contains program accomplishments, new employees, frequent highlights of specific departments, and what their contributions are to the company. By the way, the name of our newsletter was born from an employee contest.
As SSGPO continues to grow, it is important to make sure that everyone keeps informed of the “when, where, and how”. Annually, SSGPO holds an “Off-Site” meeting where senior management presents the “state-of-the-company”. Feedback from these annual meetings has instituted what has been dubbed “The Brown Bag Lunch”. Our company President holds quarterly, informal meetings to groups of employees who are invited to a luncheon to exchange comments and ideas.
Community
 SSGPO prides itself in our strong commitment to community involvement. For many years we have actively participated in the Easter Seal’s softball and volleyball fundraisers. Employees donate to Gloucester’s Well Spring House for needy families during the Christmas holidays.
Other charitable or fundraiser organizations that we support, as a group or individually, have been the American Heart Association, Make a Wish Foundation, and Boys and Girls Scouts, to name a few.
We are environmentally conscious and have a vigorous program of paper recycling.
Social
 At SSGPO we work extremely hard to be a successful company. Employees are rewarded for their dedication through annual Christmas dinners, summer B-B-Q’s, or Ice Cream Sundae Fridays. SSGPO also has a golf league that begins each year in May.
Twice a year, our volunteer store opens its door to take orders for SSGPO Logo T-shirts, golf windbreakers, caps and sweatshirts.
We are very proud to be able to say that SSGPO has been a viable company for over 25 years! Employees celebrated a 25th anniversary in November of 2002. Service awards were also given out.
