Benefits

SSG Precision Optronics, Inc. (SSGPO) and its subsidiary, Tinsley Laboratories, recognizes the importance of providing comprehensive benefits and considers them to be a major part of your compensation package. The contributions made by SSGPO to your benefits programs are like a second paycheck, providing benefits that are designed to support the needs of employees and their families. SSGPO is committed to providing benefits that are competitive, and will periodically review its programs to make sure they continue to meet your needs. Unless otherwise noted, benefits described here are effective on your date of hire and are subject to change. Every effort has been made to make the information as accurate as possible. In the case of any discrepancy between the web site, the Summary Plan Description and the Official Plan Documents, the official plan documents always govern.

Health Plans

SSGPO offers a choice of group health plans based on your geographical location that enable you to select the best plan to meet your family’s needs. Your premiums are deducted from your pay on a pre-tax basis.
  • Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) – Under an HMO, you and your family members choose a primary care physician who coordinates your care through the HMO network.
  • Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) – A PPO plan combines the benefits of an HMO and an indemnity plan. You can choose in-network providers (like an HMO) or out-of-network providers at a higher cost to you (like an indemnity plan). You decide whenever you receive medical services.
  • Guardian Dental – This plan provides comprehensive dental coverage for a full range of preventive, basic, and major services.
  • Vision Care – There is a $200 allowance for eye care (employee only) and is reimbursed by SSGPO and this allowance can be carried over one year.

Disability Plans

  • Short-Term Disability (STD) – This plan provides 70% of your weekly benefits salary for up to 12 weeks for non work-related illnesses or injuries, up to a weekly maximum of $3,500.
  • Long- Term Disability (LTD) – This plan provides a gross monthly benefit of 60% of employee’s prior monthly earnings beyond the STD coverage period up to a monthly maximum of $7,000.

Life Insurance

  • Basic Group Term Life – Is paid at the amount of $50,000.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) – Under AD&D, your beneficiary would receive an additional $50,000 if your death is due to an accident.
  • Business Travel Accident – In addition to Basic Group Term Life and AD&D, this plan protects you while traveling on company business with coverage not to exceed four times your salary to a max of $1M per person.
  • Supplemental Coverage – There is a choice of Group Term Life, Universal Life or a combination of the two.
